The last nice days of summer are winding down, we’re about to start our new homeschool curriculum, which we’re really excited about. So we’re spending as much time in the sun before the snow starts to fall. We came up with a really fun, slightly messy activity. Watercolor squirt guns! We invited some friends over and had a blast.
I made my own liquid water color by diluting solid watercolors in 4 ounces of water and letting them sit overnight. By the next morning all you need is a little stir and you can funnel the watercolors into the squirt guns.
Then I used thumbtacks to hang watercolor paper we used (affiliate link) Canson watercolor paper
We took turns squirting the watercolors like it was an old shooting gallery and it was so much fun. You could use the finished product as backgrounds for illustrations or cut them out.
You could draw with white crayon or use painters tape some fun shapes before shooting with colors, the possibilities are endless.
So get outside, enjoy those last sunny days and get a little messy. Don’t forget to pin this idea for later!
